It is a great site for information on the Auroras, what they are, how to view them, and a detailed forecast on when they are visible. They come crashing through the sky in great waves, pulsating from bright displays of green, yellow and blue, then dimming to resemble a faint green cloud in the distance. Once you have spotted and aurora, prepare to be memorized for hours. The only thing that will keep you from a total state of hypnosis…is the cold. One of the most spectacular displays I witnessed was at -40. It was cold, but not undoable. So be prepared with warm socks, boots, bibs, hat, gloves, and parka; and you will be just fine. |
