What To Wear For Denali In The Summer
Your guess is as good as ours! The summers in Denali Alaska are usually cool with clouds floating through the sky on a slight breeze. Temperatures range from 65 f to 72 f on most days. The weather changes quickly in the mountains, so dress for just about anything.
Dress in layers and have a rain jacket handy. If you are planning on going for a hike, or any climbing, bring a jacket and stocking hat. Remember, the farther up you climb, the cooler it gets, and you will most likely encounter some winds, so be prepared.
Make sure you have a sturdy pair of hiking boots, and long pants are best when path finding through the brush. And always make sure to have your mosquito spray handy.

Be careful when picking your brand that you read the label to find out the percentage of DEET.
If you have a brand with a high percentage of DEET, spray your clothing only and try to avoid spraying your skin. I had some over spray hit my strawberry plant, and by the next day it was covered with brown spots everywhere!
A slight breeze can quickly turn into a gusting wind, so if you have long hair, bring something to tie it back with. Baseball caps are great for shading out the sun, but if you are climbing into the hills, you might want to leave it at home. Bandannas are great when hiking and can be used as a first aid tool if necessary.
