In the winter when animals go into hybernation and the locals cozy into the chair next to the stove, the dogs and dog mushers alike come to life. Once it hits -20 malamutes and huskys become frisky and full of life. This is their favorite time of the year.

It is exilerating to harness the energy of a sled dog ready and anxious to run! The snowshoe rabbits are in an aboundance in Denali and it is fun to watch them along with the Ptarmigans change from brown to white.

A whole new world and lifestyle awakens with the cold. It feels as if you have been transported to a whole new place and culture. Winter is also a great time to view wildlife such and the moose and fox. With snow on the ground and the white backdrop of snow flocked trees, the moose really stand out.
